Deuteronomy 10:14–15
“The heavens, indeed the highest heavens, belong to the Lord your God, as does the earth and everything in it. Yet the Lord had set His heart on your ancestors and loved them. He chose their descendants after them — He chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.”

If the word “yet” doesn’t break you in this verse, then you’re not seeing it clearly.

God owns everything.
He holds the galaxies, the stars, the oceans, and every breath in His hands. He lacks nothing.

And yet,
it wasn’t more stars He chose,
it wasn’t more flowers,
it wasn’t more mountains.
It was you.

He doesn’t need anything, yet He desires a relationship with you.
He didn’t choose you because you had worth.
He chose you, and that choice gave you worth.

This verse is not about possession, but rather an invitation.
An invitation to step into the kind of love that isn’t earned but freely given.
You don’t have to be “enough” for God to love you… You only have to be His.

He rests His affection upon you like a royal crown as a reminder that you belong to the King of Heaven.
You are not overlooked, you are chosen.
The King looked across eternity and said,
“Yet… I choose you.”
